“A Period of Economic Marvel”

In 1948 the “Kleine Zeitung” was able to appear again. With Hans Dichand as Editor-in-chief, the newpaper offensively took on the competition with the then privileged political party newspapers. From 1954 onwards, the Carinthian edition of the “Kleinen” was also printed in Klagenfurt whose editorial offices were headed by Heinz Stritzl from 1956 to 1990. The economic responsibility was allocated to Josef Kaufmann. The Vienna editorial offices were set up in 1959 and headed by Kurt Vorhofer, who ensured an independent and critical internal policy reporting and set the standard in this area.

After the War, book publishing was also able to re-establish its successful work of the years before 1938. In the 50īs and 60īs the “courageous books” caused a sensation. The works of a progressive Catholicism, they were written by the then publishing Director Willy Schreckenberg. The geographical and spiritual commencement in the work of the publishing house was symbolically expressed, when the registered offices in Köln in1953 were founded.

The printing area had the longest lasting after-effect from the NS-period. A new building in 1964 enabled the company to rise to the top of the print and setting technical possibilities, where it is still today, maintaining continuous further developments and excellent quality.
